PUT A BOW ON IT

I absolutely love this dress, it was gifted to me by a friend a few years ago and it's the second time I'm wearing it. I love that it's sexy without showing too much skin. I decided to pair it with these lovely sandals and my new favorite necklace from House of Harlow. My husband and I took my friend to dinner at a beautiful restaurant one night and it was the perfect outfit for an island dinner.

Blue and orange is one of my favorite color combos, and it is also my Alma mater's colors, which makes this outfit perfect for game day. I love how bold those two colors are and it definitely makes one stand out. I last wore this shirt here and again it was quite a bright combo :-)

Hubby and I are planning to have a very chilled out Christmas, last year we spent Christmas and New Years in Miami and it was incredible. I have been attending lots of holiday parties and eating and drinking my fair share of goodies. Lots of outfits coming up. Have a fab week!!

COLORFUL STRIPES

These photos were taken a few weeks ago; with traveling and work I somehow forgot to post them, so here they are. Better late than never right? Right!

It's no secret that I love stripes and I especially love pairing it with different patterns and prints however, I played it safe with this outfit by combining this multi color striped skirt with a neutral blouse and playing up my outfit with standout accessories and shoes.

ABSTRACT + WHITE

When I'm looking for something easy to wear to work, my go to outfit is a dress sometimes paired with a cardigan or a blazer. This dress is quite old but still one of my favorites, I purchased it from the sales rack at Forever 21 in the fall of 2009 and wore it to my Athletics Department graduation party in December 2009, since then I have worn it countless times and it has never failed me. Considering the quality of Forever 21's clothes can be hit or miss, this one is definitely a hit! I love the abstract brush stroke looking print on this dress, it's colorful and bright and it's all me.

STRIPES & BOWS

Every time my mom buys me clothes especially dresses her usual lingo is "I saw this dress and it looked just like you, so I had to get it," when I visited her and she gave me this dress I was so excited to wear it that I actually wore it to work when I returned from my vacation. I love this dress so much, the inverted pleats, the stripes, the fit, it epitomizes feminine. I have paired this dress with pumps, flats and sandals and it's always a hit. It is quite possibly one of my favorite dresses. For this outfit I decided to play up the "girliness" of this dress by pairing stripes with bows and adding pops of colors.

FLOWER POWER

J. Crew's Creative Director was recently quoted in the May issue of Harper's Bazaar "The idea of a uniform is like a slow and painful death to me. There is nothing I like more than getting dressed" and I couldn't agree with her more. Apart from loving my job, I love that it's a pretty relaxed environment. We are free to wear anything we like, since we don't show up in booty shorts and crop tops. 

I am not one to shy away from a bold or bright print, or both. Last summer when I visited my mom in New York and I saw this lovely little number hanging in her closet, I immediately claimed it and she didn't protest. I love everything about this dress, the silhouette, the colors, the print, EVERYTHING. I wore this to work yesterday as a casual Friday outfit. The possibilities are endless with this dress.
