LAVENDER & RED

Since I live on a tropical island, my work wear has changed drastically from when I lived in the US; for obvious reasons. I am usually in the office before 8am, and on a good day I leave at 4:30, on a not so good day, I leave at 6:00pm.

 One key element of my personal style is comfort. I refuse to wear anything that's not comfortable, and that's where Express shirts come in, I love their Essential Shirts, they are so comfortable, soft and feminine and can be worn with nice work trousers, jeans or a skirt. I never plan ahead, when it comes to what I'm wearing, I usually go with whatever I'm feeling and this skirt and shirt was the perfect marriage of color and a reflection of my work style.

I am BACK!! Seems like forever since I've blogged, but I promise I am back this time :-) A combination of work and personal issues has kept me so busy that I had very little time to take photos for my blog. These photos were taken about a month ago on my birthday, my husband got me this lovely cake, shaped like a vintage hat box and he took me to a great dinner. I decided to keep my outfit neutral with a dark lip because I've been really digging a dark lip lately. Hello!! I hope everyone is having a great week. Just stopping by to share this outfit I wore almost a month ago. I know I have mentioned before how much I love wearing things in my closet that haven't been worn much, and this pair of sandals from the Kardashian Kollection is one of them, I bought it about 2 years ago and probably wore it twice. I don't even understand why because it is so lovely and the print is subtle and beautiful. Also, this vintage coach handbag from 1989, I've been searching for, for a really long time, (I have a personal reason why it was so important that I find this exact one) I was lucky enough to score it on Poshmark from a lovely seller. 

MIXED STRIPE

This mixed stripe drop shoulder slub dress from Express is everything one needs in a perfect little "island dress." The band of color blocking, mixed stripes, three quarter sleeves and lightweight cotton material makes this dress an easy and very comfortable option for the heat. When I spotted it at the Express store, I wasn't too sure about the fit and since I hate trying on clothes I didn't listen to my mom and only bought one color; a decision I am regretting.

This is another outfit I wore while I was in Grenada. It is quite possibly one of the most comfortable dresses I own. Now I will begin to stalk poshmark or ebay in hopes of finding another color, since it's sold out.

I paired it with my favorite pair of wedge sandals from Aldo and this beautiful necklace I purchased from one of my favorite Poshmark sellers All4designer. Her closet is AMAZING and she has beautiful statement necklaces. I got so many compliments on this necklace and I can't stop wearing it!

Last week my husband and I flew to Grenada to finalize some business, after a disastrous flight (I need to dedicate an entire post to our experience - coming soon!) experience we made it to Grenada a day late and we were thankful to still be able to make all our appointments and spend time with family and friends. I wore this outfit to my appointments which included lawyers and bank officers. We were rushing in the morning so these photos were taken in the late evening when we went to visit our amazing plot of land. I wanted to be comfortable but still stay true to my style, hence I decided on the classic combo of black, white and red. 
On another note I am so sorry I have been MIA, I have been incredibly busy and haven't had the time to post as much as I would like. Luckily, everything has slowed down a bit for me, so I'll be blogging like I used too. I hope you all have a fabulous week!!
