I love this shirt dress so much! Whilst browsing through a mall in Miami a few months ago, my husband saw this beautiful dress and bought it for me -- he won major husband points. I wanted to wear the dress off the rack, since I was obsessed it with. The weather here has been crazy hot lately so for my God daughter's graduation this little number was a great pick. I am also totally obsessed with this necklace my friends gifted to me.

FEELING BLUE + JORD WATCH

I love unique pieces of jewelry and when it comes to watches, as much as I love a classic lady like watch, I love the look of over sized men watches. I would wear my husband's watches all the time, if my wrist wasn't so tiny. I was contacted by the people at Jord, a St. Louis based company, to review one of their timepieces.  I was super excited because I've always want a wooden watch. As I browsed through their website I instantly fell in love with all the beautiful watches.

For my review, I chose the Delmar Red because it spoke to my personality. The watch arrived in a beautiful wooden box, wrapped around a gorgeous tweed cushion. The unique thing about these Jord watches, is that they're made entirely of sustainable wood and are very lightweight and beautiful. To be honest, I expected it to be bulky, but it's far from it, instead you can see all the beautiful grains in the wood. My watch was sized before it was shipped to me, a service they offer to all their customers (don't be like me, leave room for the clasp).

Since I received the watch I have been wearing it at the office a lot and I absolutely love it, I have gotten so many compliments on the uniqueness and beauty of the watch and many couldn’t believe that it was made of "actual" wood. The first time I wore my watch, was to a friend’s birthday party. I decided to pair it with this beautiful blue maxi dress that has been sitting in my closet for a while and a red lip to compliment the red face of the watch. The moment I laid eyes on this skirt, I kept thinking about twirling. Not only is it a super fancy girly skirt, but the color alone makes me happy and reminds me of some of the skirts and dresses I wore as a child. I really wanted to keep the attention on the fancy flounce/ peplum detail on this skirt, so I opted for a simple top with lace detailing and  my favorite pumps from Sole Society. I love this skirt so much I bought it in two colors.

While most people have a "work uniform" and I am not talking about the kind mandated by some employers, I am talking about the routine outfit you wear all the time, I am not that girl. While it's important to me to look professional, I won't be caught wearing the same boring outfits every week. On a weekly basis I can be seen wearing anything that reflects my personal style, which I tend to describe as "chic," from a floral dress with a light cardigan, ankle pants with a cute blouse, an outfit like the one above or jeans with whatever choice of blouse I am feeling that day, paired with our without a blazer or cardigan.

Happy Friday! I hope you're all having a wonderful evening and looking forward to the weekend as much as I am. Here's a quick post of what I wore to work last Friday. While I love wearing heels, I also love a cute pair of flats and these Target leopard flats are one of my favorites. I decided to pair it with this oxblood blazer, also from Target and a statement necklace. This look can easily be transitioned for an evening out, by swapping out the flats for a pair of strappy heels / sandals. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend. xo

BOYFRIEND JEANS & A TEE

Who loves boyfriend jeans as much as I do? There's something about them, that given the chance, I'll wear them at least twice a week. This pair from Gap is my absolute favorite, though I don't wear them enough. They can be dressed up or down and still be sexy. I last wore them in this post which was more of a dressed up look. How do you wear your boyfriend jeans?

Ps. I am so happy with my shorter hair, I was undecided at first but I am so glad I went ahead and cut it :-)

LAVENDER & RED

Since I live on a tropical island, my work wear has changed drastically from when I lived in the US; for obvious reasons. I am usually in the office before 8am, and on a good day I leave at 4:30, on a not so good day, I leave at 6:00pm.

 One key element of my personal style is comfort. I refuse to wear anything that's not comfortable, and that's where Express shirts come in, I love their Essential Shirts, they are so comfortable, soft and feminine and can be worn with nice work trousers, jeans or a skirt. I never plan ahead, when it comes to what I'm wearing, I usually go with whatever I'm feeling and this skirt and shirt was the perfect marriage of color and a reflection of my work style.
