Most people shy away from pairing contrasting prints for fear they'll look crazy, but I'm sure by now you guys have figured out that I never shy away from prints or pairing them. I love experimenting with my looks and to tell you the truth, I never really think that things can't go together, because I believe one can always find a way to make things work. There is something beautiful about a nicely tailored striped shirt, and the vertical stripes on this shirt is actually quite small so it added a nice touch to this black and white clustered polka dot full skirt. Strangely I have a tendency to always pair stripes and polka dots together (I'll give you guys another look at the pairing in a future post). I have a great love for polka dots and stripes and I take them as they come, whether it's a dress, shirt, pants, skirt, anything and definitely any size!
Don't be afraid to experiment with contrasting prints, because when done right you will definitely stand out and we're all about making a statement aren't we? Have you guys paired contrasting prints before? Tell me about your favourite combo.

I have never wear polka dots because I never know what to pair it with I don't even own a polka skirt nothing. But I am loving this look. Looking good you know how to make it work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Juju, try it! believe me you will be in for a surprise, and if you're unsure you know I will help xo
DeleteNice! I think one of the things that make the polka dot/stripe combo work is the size of either. Most times when doing combos there is one that would accentuate the other and I think the direction/pattern makes a huge impact as well. It's pretty much like u said anything can be combined you just gotta know how to work it. Strange enough though, I've never done stripes and polka dot, I would usually do a solid n pattern look. But hey, it's never too late to try something new. :D
ReplyDeleteRuths, this may surprise you but the size doesn't really matter *gasps* yes, it really doesn't. I have seen bloggers pair huge polka dots with wide stripes or other prints and it's always fab! Maybe I can get you on the polka dot stripes train? Yes? Ok, we're in then :-)
DeleteLol!! I guess I am on board. I'll certainly try it and see how it works on my body. ;)
DeleteLove this combination never thought polka dot would go so well with stripe. Thumbs up to this one.....I will definitely pair those two in the future.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nakita, I am glad you are going to try the combo, you won't regret it. When you do, let me know, I would love to see a photo :-)
