BeGood Clothes - A Sustainable Alternative to Fast Fashion

Socially Responsible + Eco Friendly + Fair + Philanthropic + Fashion
Let me introduce you to a socially responsible clothing company called BeGood Clothing. A few weeks ago I was contacted by Chantel from BeGood who introduced me to the clothing company and offered me a $25 discount plus free shipping towards the purchase of anything from the store. Based in San Franciso, BeGood Clothes only carries brands that gives back to an eco or humanitarian cause. Every brand and designer is vetted by BeGood and only makes the cut if it meets strict eco and social responsibility standards. Pretty neat if you ask me!
They have so many amazing items, it was difficult for me to decide what I should use my discount to purchase, but I knew that whatever I chose, a percentage would be donated to a worthy cause. I eventually settled on THIS beautiful Alex and Ani best friends bangles, which is made with recycled brass and 20% of sales from this bangle is donated to American Heart Association. I will be giving half of this bracelet to one of my best friends :-)
All of my readers get to joy in on the fun, because the folks over at BeGood was kind enough to extend a 20% discount plus free shipping and returns with the code "begoodislandhipster" Remember my post a few weeks ago on Angela & Roi handbags HERE, well that's one of the many brands they carry.
Be sure to check out BeGood's lookbook HERE to catch a glimpse of all the amazing stuff they carry and don't forget to use the discount code above if purchasing anything.

MORANGE

This entire look was centered around one of my favorite lipsticks, MAC Morange. I was introduced to this lipstick by the lovely Danielle of The Style & Beauty Doctor about 2 years ago and it's been one of my go to shades when I want to add a little oomph! I am also proof that dark girls can wear orange lipstick :-)
I decided on this plaid shirt because I've been excited to wear it since I bought it a few weeks ago and believe it or not it's the first plaid shirt I have owned in my adult life! Crazy, I know! I paired it with a pair of Levis demi curve jeans, which has already become one of my favorite fits. Because of my athletic build sometimes it's difficult to find jeans that fit me well so I tend to stick to brands that have been good to be. My husband is a huge Levis fan, I swear it's the only jeans he owns, he convinced me to try on a pair while visiting a Levis store in Puerto Rico; I did and I was in love.

I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend. I have a crazy busy one ahead of me xx

BLACK + PINK

An all black outfit is very uncharacteristic for me. If I'm wearing lots of black I like to add a pop of color(s) to add a soft, feminine touch to the outfit and also to compliment my skin tone. I love this pair of pants because it has a very edgy look with the zippers, but yet very feminine with the touch of hot pink. Plus, one has to admit there is something about hot pink that's an instant mood booster. I wore this to work on a day it was supposed to rain, turns out the rain decided to change its mind and my "cozy" outfit wasn't such a great idea when it's 90+ outside. As usual, thanks for stopping by and reading xoxo

IN BLOOM

The moment I laid eyes on this dress I was in love, it was the perfect blend of colors for me and I couldn't wait to wear it! The fabric is so soft and the fit is perfect. I went a little matchy-matchy with this outfit because when I saw it at the store I immediately thought of my Aldo Hosey peep toe pumps. This dress has already become a favorite and I know I will be wearing it a lot. I hope you're all having a relaxing Saturday.

HOT PINK PLATFORMS

I have had this pair of chunky faux wood platform sandals for quite some time and crazily I have only worn it about four times. I love finding items I can wear over and over again and this pair of sandals is one of them. The style of these sandals is definitely paying homage to the 1960s to 1980s era, very old school and funky. I can't for the life of me remember where I got them. After getting dressed to head out to dinner on Saturday night and being undecided on the shoes I reached for this pair of sandals, they definitely added a nice touch to this outfit and they are very light and comfortable as well.

Outfit details: Shirt: Forever 21: (alternative) / Jeans: Gap / Shoes: love THIS pair / Necklace: H&M (similar) / Earrings: Icing (similar) / Clutch: picked up at the airport a few years ago (love the iridescent shimmer on THIS one)

THE MOONSHINE JUNGLE TOUR

Last weekend my husband, my brother-in-law and myself traveled over to Puerto Rico for Bruno Mars' The Moonshine Jungle Tour. My husband bought me tickets for my birthday in March and I have been counting down the days till the concert. I am a HUGE Bruno Mars fan, my friends and family can attest to that, they have to deal with it all the time :-) I never get tired of listening to his music. The concert was unbelievable, I have been to concerts before but this one was one to remember, Bruno Mars and his band sure knows how to entertain, they didn't miss a beat and he had the crowd on their feet from start to finish. I wish I could find the words to describe how incredible the concert was. I was so happy today when it was announced that he will be performing at the super bowl half time show,  couldn't think of an artist more deserving!

Since I knew I'd be  dancing a lot at this show I wanted to be as comfortable as possible so I decided on my gap boyfriend jeans and a light top and finally decided to wear my Christian Louboutin Lady Peep pumps that my husband got me for my birthday, because it was only fitting :-)

Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, we were in a rush and didn't have time to take pictures with the camera.
